EPS365 Entitlement Groups for user license management
With our migration from SELECT to EPS365 the agency is switched to "GLOBAL" Entitlements and all products are available to all users. This is bad. We need to regulate which users get which licenses.
Under SELECT - we could DENY access to every application entitlement and then create ENTITLEMENT EXCEPTION GROUPS to allow ONLY certain users permission to use that application license. The entitlement groups could be used on multiple applications to grant that block of users common access to licenses.
Under EPS 365 - we can no longer create the entitlement groups and have to add every user individually as an exception that is allowed to use that license.
For the BENTLEY license team : We did not buy EPS365 to allow every user to use every application on a whim. We REGULATE what our users have access to based on our agency defined work activities. We don't want users jumping on other computers that have software they are not permitted to use - and getting a license because of "global granted access". We need ENTITLEMENT Groups and Allocation Groups to manage that.
